Job Searching

I suppose I am doing some half-hearted job searching. I'll be moving to Brownsburg, IN to live with my mom and stepdad and my two younger sisters. It's an awesome town, very close to Indianapolis so there a lot of job opportunities. I just don't know exactly when I'll be moving so I can't give a "start date." I did email one place, a salon, that had a PERFECT job for me. The only job I've seen that seemed promising and I haven't heard back yet :-/ I'm bummed. But I'm not quite ready to do the whole hardcore applying everywhere, sending my resume, etc. Still a lot of loose ends to tie up at home like separate our things, get a storage unit, pack everything away, etc....
So no hurry on the job I guess but I can't wait to be working again.

Mom 2 Mom Sale

Wow today has been an adventure so far! I woke up and cleaned the house top to bottom because my landlord's real estate agent was coming to the house to check it out and take some pictures. Since we are moving out, my landlord is putting her rental house up for sale.
After cleaning the house, I started on a packing spree. I'm so excited because this weekend I will be selling Norah's outgrown clothes, toys and baby gear at a Mom 2 Mom sale. If you've never been to one, they are amazing! It's like a giant indoor yard sale where moms sell their kids' gently used items. When I was pregnant, I got so many great deals for Norah, most clothes were brand new with tags. Now I'm going to return the favor and try to sell as much of her things as possible so I am not packing and storing them in my Big Move.

In case you can't tell, there are boxes of clothes in the bassinet and under the swing. I'm also selling a travel swing, her baby tub, and a huge box of maternity clothes.

Here's a little about me. I won't overwhelm you with my life story, just enough for you to know what I'm talking about in all my various posts.

My name is Jessica and I'm 21 years old, with a 9 month old beautiful daughter. I just recently separated from my daughter's father, my partner and best friend of 3 years. The title of my blog is "My Single Step" because I've always liked the quote that "Every journey begins with a single step." Now, more than ever, as I embark on this strange new journey, I am reminded to take every day one step at a time. That, and it truly is my "single" step as I prepare to live my life without the one who has been by my side.

My First Post

Well here it is! My very own blog! I've wanted to start a blog for awhile, but for one reason or another I never did. I didn't have time, didn't have anything to write about, didn't think anyone would read it, etc... Well now here I am with many of the same concerns but I'm just taking the plunge and doing it. Even if it's just a way for me to journey this stage in my life, I am sure I will look back and reminisce about all the things I'm writing about.

I'll post more about myself here in a moment. Welcome, and thanks to anyone out there who reads what I have to say :-)
